My wife's church posted this today ...

"need a plane and pilot to get to Haiti to evacuate some kids as soon as possible. we need a plane that can land on 1400 meters of airstrip. we'll load it with medical supplies on the way down. we need at least 5 seats plus a pilot. contact pmckerring@crosspointe.org with leads."

They have missionaries that live there taking care of 30+ children. The organization is called Joy In Hope. Not only do they have orphanded children to take care of, but they are also actively working in the community of Jacmel to find missing people and feed 500+ people per day. This was posted today from Joy In Hope...

"The community feeding begins today with 500 people lunch served out of our Jacmel Church. We will still feed the few hundred at our house as well. We hope to provide a meal and water a day to anyone that comes. We plan on 500 today and then each day we will increase the amount we make."

Here is a good article describing what the Joy in Hope organization has been doing with the Jacmel airport this week.

If you have not donated any money yet to an organization, please consider donating to Joy in Hope. They are making some amazing progress in Jacmel where no UN or US aid has arrived yet.
