I got tires today for my street Mini. (Sorry I live to far from Jeb to have him do anything.) I always go to a locally owned place hoping to keep the money in the neighbor hood. Pughs Tires on Memorial Drive in Gvegas. They all know me by name and all come an speak, want updated on track events, yada yada yada.

Well I get some Bridgestones, actually better price than Tirerack.

1. Installer comes out to tell me one center hub is gone, well that's odd because I switched rims just before I brought it so I was pretty sure it was there when I changed the tire 20 minute earlier, what the H I have 4 more wheels like it in the garage I'll get another one.

2. Car handling like pure t CRAP. Floating all over the road. Tires are so noisey I can't hear Mick Jagger when I make a turn. I drive home and check the pressures. Here you go.

RF After 7 Seconds releasing air still pegging the 60 PSI on the gauge.

Maybe I don't live too far from Jeb.

I wouldn't let that Pugh's change my lawnmower tire. I goto White's over on Memorial by Cracker Barrel.

i have yet to find someone in greenville i trust to change tires. i will advise not you not to use any colony tire town. i have used the minake on memorial, next to hibachi and red lobster, they are nice guys who all have track cars and are vir members. they did scuff up a set of wheels i didnt care about though, so be warned.

i wish we had tire changing machine at the shop i work at, but unfortunately we've only got a balancer. maybe Walter knows a better place to go?

I have had 100% great experiences with Briley's Tire on Trade Street. Timmy Lilley is the best.

I have heard nothing but good stuff about Briley's I will go there next. BTW if you need work done on your car you don't want to do I have found the best guy. Everettes Auto, a small garage behind his house on Eastern Pines. He was with Brown & Wood for 25 years and was their best mechanic and service manager. Wife has money so he quit. does great work and is really cheap! I really trust the guy.

I have had good experiences with Brileys but Timmy no longer works there and Edward isn't very aggressive on his tire prices.

Betty at Colony tire near the airport is pretty good at price matching but it's hit and miss on the tire changers.

David at White's tire is reasonable and reliable. I wouldn't deal with anyone else there though.

Under no circumstanes would I go to Pugh's on Greenville Blvd by the mall.

There is a small tire store in downtown lil Washington that shave balances tires. I've used them numerous times for this service.

Good mechanics are hard to find in this town. I've had a few good experiences but LOTs of bad ones so I do most everything myself.

You are right about the prices. I usually get my tires from Tire Rack and have Briley's mount them for me. I have bought tires for my wife's mini van there and the price was just OK.
I'm willing to pay a little more for regular tires when I need them to build a relationship with the store. I want them to know me by name. That way when I need a favor, they will do it. I like to know if I'm out of town that my wife could take her car to Briley's and they would take care of the problem.

i did until about 6 months ago when i started working at this shop. i've also been working at the yale/hyster fork lift manufacturing plant doing layouts and other AutoCAD work for the past two years.

Your wife's accent will get her taken care of any where she went :twisted:
