Thanks!
Yeah, it may just be a case of "A man's gotta know his limitations."

I have always approached life with the attitude that tenacity and determination can overcome talent in almost any case, but this may be a scenario where grit tops out below my expectations. Who knows-- Maybe I am trying too hard and a little less focus will improve performance after a season or two? I like Rodney's approach and definitely enjoy the hangin out part. I am not equating selling the car with giving up, so there's that.
The difficulty with this dastardly sport is in figuring out whether you are improving. No one's performance is static--we're all pretty much improving or getting slower--even the drivers at the pointy end of the field (albeit they probably oscillate in performance much less than the average driver like me). This is the continued flaw in monitoring progress. I pick the fast people to compete against at every event, (usually the entire X class and then some Open class folks) and most of the time they beat me, hence my issues with perceived non-improvement. (I am getting beat by a smaller margin, so there's something to take away. I guess.

) The difficulty is determining the degree of relative non-improvement vs those drivers--we could both be improving relative to the Whole, but not relative to each other. And since every course is different there is no standard by which to compare using sites either.
(I thought I was getting faster as the gap between me and Andrew Pallotta had narrowed some, but then he smoked me in my own car--turns out it was only tire-related. Doh!)
I appreciate the kind words. Lee, you are welcome to test drive it any time.
