NMNA.
Saw this pop up for sale and thought I would pass it along to the club.
2001 Miata at LKQ in Salisbury, NC. Has the 6spd and 3.9 Torsen. They want $825. Looks like car has lots of other bits as well.
If I had the funds/time I would be on this. They were running a 40% sale this weekend, you might call to see if they would extend it.

Stock Number: $R06317-140
Part Number: ~118803589
Part Number: ~118803625

LKQ is different than LKQ Pick Your Part (which was having a 40% off sale). Are you saying they quoted you $825 for the torsen and 6 speed or the whole car?

I'm guessing this is the car that Chad was talking about at work today. They have the engine for pretty cheap as well.

I didn't realize they were different companies.
Does that mean I pay for the parts and they put them in the back of my truck? That would make this even better.

It was $425 for the trans, $400 for the diff. I know I have seen the 3.9 Torsen sell for $900 with the axle shafts. 6spds sell pretty quickly in the $600-800 range. You could potentially double your investment. I just don't have the time/money right now.

FWIW Andrew and I sold a 3.9 torsen for $800 shipped last year. That was without the diff carrier or axles to make shipping easier.

The "non" pick a part LKQ's dont sell to the public only garages and body shops. If someone wants it let me know and I can order it.

They have a 2001 motor listed in Salisbury for $600, it's tempting for me to pick that up for my 2000.

Yeah, LKQ is a major junkyard chain that sells mostly to shops and businesses (and other junkyards). As Jeremy said, they usually don't sell to individuals, but I'm sure there are ways around that- you could get Jeremy to order it for you, or ask someone you know at a shop to order it, or just make up a business name and try to do it that way. In my experience, most "regular" junkyards are willing to negotiate on price, at least a little, especially if the car/parts have been in inventory for a while. Can't hurt to ask.

LKQ Pick Your Part is a separate company that runs the U-pull junkyards. They are owned by the same company, but operate completely separate from one another.
