Edit: Still can't believe no one has even test driven this thing.

new Autotrader ad: http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale ... 7929&Log=0

So this will be the 4th car I've sold this year and it's a pretty boring one but would be a great commuter or young driver car.

I've volunteered to help my brother in law get rid of his '07 Mazda 3 that he purchased new here in Raleigh and it has 73,000 on the clock and seems to be an absolute, simplest of the simple base model version. There's some interior wear and scratches and such, but overall not too shabby.

I was thinking about buying a car in NC and driving across country again to save a boat load of money ;). If only this was an autotragic.

No Protégé 5 yet?

I haven't found one in good enough shape to trust unfortunately.

I'd say used cars (private or CPO) are usually 15-25% more in the Seattle area than I'd expect in NC.

For instance, I'd say if $7500 is a reasonable price for the Mazda 3 in NC, it would be listed at 10-11k in Seattle. I think it's more specific to Small economy cars. We've been looking at the Fit and a 2010-12 CPO with 30-50k miles is about $15-16k whereas I can get a brand new one for $18-19k, so we'll probably just a get a new one (plus the new model is quite a bump in fit/finish/amenities compared to the previous generation).
