I've already asked that question and your daughter's answer of "I like to wear winter clothes" still baffles me to this today.

Craigslist, that is where we found mine I believe.Subaru forester will suit your needs well, room for blankets and food...Room to use blankets and keep warm, reliable and able to take winter storms with ease. And turbo sti drivetrain with teh right one.But even so,stock is fine for what she needs i think.

I went for a drive in Laura's Forester when I was in Jersey the day after a 30" snow storm. The car was a beast.

I love my Forester and highly suggest the 2003-2008 models. The 2008 and later models are also good, but they got a bit bigger and became more of a true SUV.

The early "XS" and all XT models come with a rear LSD. I think in 2007 the "XS" went away and became an "X Sport".

I'm too lazy to read through it, but here is a link that should have all of the information:

This Brat was also on bringatrailer.com.

The Ebay listing has been removed so I guess it is gone.

Well, she bought a boring Legacy off of a Subaru Dealers lot. At least it was from GA and I think she got a pretty good deal. She learned the car buying process along the way so that's another good thing.
