Points, when you are creating a magnetic field..it makes a field of electricity between them, that then collpases, the field is powered by i believe the condensor. it stores electricity then the points are made to field it, then the field collapses and creates the spark needed to power the plugs.i went to school, the best i can remember is this.

One problem with the Ebay listing: It shows a Rover (I don't know the difference between a Land and Range) in one picture. Even if it !is not yours, it gives the appearance of someone with very poor judgment. People might think the can low ball you because you need to buy parts for the Rover!

Haha!! Good point, Mr. Hall! If the car doesn't sell this time around, I'll be sure to retake the photos!

I just can't make it AND the car I just bought fit in my plans. I should probably buy this car and sell mine. But part of this is I kinda want to do the swap. But this is almost exactly the swap I want. I'd either dual carb or do different FI, but the 2.4 is what I want.

I am not gonna flare the one I build, but I like flares a lot. But I'd prefer molded in ones, not bolt on ones. But for bolt on, these are very very good. If I wanted two 914s, I'd have one flared and one not. But the flared one would have even more motor.

So clearly the answer is buy this one and put its motor in the other car and put a bigger motor in this car.

Except I need two of these like I need a hole in the head. And yet I still might do it. Sigh.

decisions decisions. I can vouch for the cars performance having lost to Jason at many events over the years. I even helped him beat me by selling him a transmission for that car

If one is good, two are better. (of course I owned three Triumphs at one time so three is awesome!)

If I had the space and money, I would own more than one. The more you have the more "wish list scenarios" you can support

Four would be a good number for me...

1. Stock 914/4 (likely a 74' LE "Bumblebee")
2. Stock 914/6 $$$
3. Narrow body street car with high revving screamer 2.0 to 2.4L built to something close to a 906 spec
4. Wide body monster track car with large displacement six, modern EFI, ITBs and various aero bits.

Given I can really only afford one, I am doing a toned down version of #4 that will be streetable.

I think Jason's car is a good start toward a #3 or #4.

Richard

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

She gone!!

It's going to Joliet, Illinois. Sold outside of ebay - I already know I am going to miss it terribly - hopefully I'll find it's replacement quickly!
