Chris and I used these tires last fall to test on our ES Spyder. Two of them only have 8 autocross runs and a maybe 400 miles. The other two have roughly 25 runs and about 800 miles. In some ways they are better than new since all the release compound is off.

Tire Rack has them on closeout for $109 each. That's about $500 shipped to your door, so you can save over $200 on the set. We're located in Hillsborough. Feel free to PM Eric if your interested.

Thanks,

Eric & Chris Peterson

Dude, anything is better than the falkans. The z11 came out in late '12 so they can't be that old.

Eric - what tire are you running now?

Date code is 4712. I bought them from the Tire Rack in October of 2013.

Scott, I'm running Toyo R1Rs in the 195/50-15. I think almost everyone is ES, regardless of car is running the same time and size. I know they are only a one year tire, but they are amazing in all conditions I've run them in so far (e.g., hot, cold, asphalt, and concrete). They were great this past weekend at the Ohio Match Tour on concrete. No heat problems during class competition.

They were excellent during the first heat when no rubber was laid down. Then, during the SuperShoot Out, when the course was rubbered in and sticky, they were still awesome. Unfortunately, I didn't bring a spray bottle. After 4 runs in short succession they got molten hot and started to go away and the car was really pushy during the semi-final round, so that's when I got knocked out. Hosing them down between runs would have helped. Still, I was happy with the 3rd place tie in the shootout. Anyway, I'll enjoy running on them for this season.

I did really like ZIIs and am leaning towards going with the whatever the new version will be of that tire that's supposed to be released in the fall. This weekend in Ohio I talked to some tire contacts who anticipate a couple new entries to the street tire competition so it should be interesting as we'll have more options next season.

What are you running on the BRZ?

I'm still on Dunlop Z1 star specs (got them in August '12). They have 4 track events, an autocross school and 10+ autocross events on them. Probably 2000 road miles too. Maybe half worn at this point? Crazy. I just got them flipped because I like to spend money.

Sounds like they wear like iron - that's great!

We shaved the R1Rs and will get 115 runs out of this first set. So, they don't last long but cost half as much as Hoosiers so we are happy. I actually wish they'd gone straight to the 200 TW this year.

Those 07' tires just fit the rest of the theme I'm going with on the 200k mi 98' track car.

Eric, consider them sold!

But those tires are matched perfect and staggered special. Will the new ones have the same special stagger?
