Well, here is a complete change of plans. The '94 that I was originally looking to get parts for had a bit more body damage than I thought. However, I happened to be in the right place at the right time and I'm trading it for a rough, no-start 2000 Special Edition Miata.

The problem is that the Special Edition was in the process of getting parted out and the first thing the guy sold was the seats.

So, right now I *know* I need Tan leather NB Miata seats.

I'm sure I'll discover more as I get into the car eventually.

I'd like:
NB Mazdaspeed suspension. I'd settle for some stock take offs so I can mess with them.
Hard top (any color)

This is going to make a *lousy* rallycross car since it has the ground effect/appearance package. I'm probably going to unbolt that and store it if I decide to rallycross this. I'll probably unbolt all of the wooden "Special edition" stuff, too, but I'm going to keep it, so please don't ask if I want to sell it.

However, I'd also trade the whole thing for a rust free, running NB.

I have all the NA body panels. Hood is vinyl wrapped olive drab. Paint on the bumper cover is mediocre, one of the POs hit something hard enough to crank the paint but not hard enough to damage any of the structure underneath. Fenders are completely rust free.

Here is a gallery of the parts. The last picture is a closeup of the crazing on the bumper paint.

$350 for the fenders, hood, bumper cover & crash bar, and headlight assemblies w/motors and whatever you want?

Once I pick up a replacement car I'll have a complete NB2 suspension as well. Car currently has control arms with Energy Suspension bushings on them. I may be able to be talked into selling them with the bushings & zerk fittings.

Thanks for the reply. I found a few on Craigslist and I want to compare prices, but my brain is currently fried since I just got done with work.

These 17 hour days have to stop.

I have some spare stuff for a 94 (CAS, coilpack, etc), and I think Hashim's softtop might be in decent enough condition to just bolt straight on; however, I'm not even close to sure on that one.

e: Alec Moody might be able to set you up with a sweet 4x4 stance stock suspension with revalved Bilsteins.

If you are looking for a hardtop, treasure coast miata is selling a lightweight fiberglass version (12lbs) with no seals or rear window for $550. You can get it in black gel coat so you don't need to paint it. They quoted me $187 to ship it, perhaps they can group more than one into a shipment at reduced cost.

Edit:
I was curious so I called treasure coast miata and they said they can ship two in the freight container for the price of shipping one. They also just put up the street conversion kit which is all the seals, precut window, and brackets for the top:
http://treasurecoastmiata.com/i-1588925 ... t-kit.html

Top with brackets, window, seals... is 19lbs. OEM hardtops are supposed to be something like 45lbs and I don't think that includes all the latches or striker plates.

I am interested in that hard top kit, but money is tight. I just got into the Miata a bit at lunch time and it looks like it might be a bit more bent than I thought. I won't know HOW bent until I get the fender and bumper cover off, but it is looking like it might be beyond the "bang on it with a big hammer until everything goes back together" stage.

Well, I have a 1997 with a chopped up engine wiring harness that is completely straight and rust free if you want a donor. I'll be keeping suspension and drive train and some other misc bits.

I am going to look at some stuff this weekend. If it doesn't work out, I'll let everybody know. Given the prices he is asking, I'm not expecting much.

I am not ready to order a hardtop yet either. I think I will be in early January though. I'll PM in december to see if you are interested at that time. Alternatively, I have a pretty good condition soft top on frame. No leaks, tan, plastic rear window. I'm not sure what it is worth, maybe someone else can chime on on that. If the hardtop is too expensive right now I will have the soft top for sale around December/January.

I picked up some parts yesterday. I still need a driver side fender, possibly more. I'll know once I tear into the car at some point in the future (probably Friday).

Just post in here or send me a PM/e-mail (jmilko@gmail.com) when you know what you need. I'm not looking to junk the car before Christmas.

I updated the first post to indicate a complete change of plans. I'll now be fighting with an NB Miata.

Milko will probably be willing to sell you the entire interior of his 2001.

I thought he had an NA? If not, well, I'm interested.

I bought a 2001 to replace the NA I'm parting out. The entire interior is up for grabs but I need to finish getting rid of my NA before I can start on the NB.
