The DL1 Mk II sells for $859 alone. The DL1 along with the software included is super powerful. You can track and even calculate anything. It maps the course and provides all the standard GPS based data logging information augmented by the integrated accelerometers for super accuracy. The ODBII interface allows you pull valuable data from the cars computer for review after the race! With the Video Sync device you don't have to scrap your current camera to get integrated video with data overlay. And you don't have to spend time trying to manually sync the first sign of movement of the car in the video with the data to get it synced.

Need to log more information such as brake pressure, steering angle, suspension deflection and the like? The DL1 will take up to 13 inputs for logging everything you might want to know about your vehicle. Just buy the sensors and cable them up.

FYI:

For anyone with questions I have a DL1 combined with the Race-Technology Video4.

Race-Technology indicates that the software works with Windows 8 (I don't know about the Windows 8 RT version but I suspect not)

For autocross between run use SoloStorm (Petrel Data) is close to release of Android software for real time interface with the DL1 http://www.petreldata.com/

It will use a serial bluetooth adapter to send run data directly from the DL1 to a smartphone or tablet in the car. After seeing Kraig Klippel use SoloStorm between runs on a tablet at Fayetteville recently I was really impressed and want it for my car. I think a smartphone like my Galaxy Nexus will be big enough to see what I'm looking for between runs.
