'08 MX-5 Touring model, 52K miles, Copper Red Mica, black cloth interior, wonderful little car that I hate to part with. Bone stock. I have the stock parts and can replace if desired and would trim a few hundred off the price in that case. Car is in great shape with only a couple very minor cosmetic flaws. Nearly new tires. This is back up on the chopping block. I've moved to Florida and bought a house and a boat and a motorcycle. I have too many bills and too many vehicles. The realities of being a landlord with my Raleigh house have come crashing home quickly and expensively and car insurance in Florida is extremely expensive, gotta thin the herd and the motorcycle fills the roll a convertible would quite nicely. I've taken the car to Key West again and back and forth from Raleigh a couple times so it has some more miles on it now, looks like the market for these cars is pretty good down here, but thought I'd give you guys first opportunity for the car. Its still titled/registered/insured in NC so it might actually be easier for me to sell it to someone in NC anyway and I would be willing to deliver it for anyone interested. Here are some pictures:

Get by with the 3 other cars I have for awhile and eliminate car payments. I'm not looking to by another car right away but another house actually, in Florida. Once that purchase is done and I'm recovered, I'll be promptly getting another convertible, maybe an older NC or S2K, gotta have a convertible in FLA. :D

A@@hole, I put a new belt on it yesterday after 1.5 hours work took it out to dinner and the new belt popped off and cracked within 20 minutes of driving. I really have no idea what is going on, there is nothing obvious, no alignment issues, not leaking fluids, no moving accessory bracket, nothing I can obviously attribute it too like in the past. I suppose its possible I got a bad belt from Advance, but probably not, maybe something with the tensioner, but it seems fine so I'm at a loss. Open to suggestions though.

I haven't made any commitments yet, but its looking that way, mainly looking to live somewhere where it is warm all the time. I have no use for cold or even cool weather really, I've missed year round warmth ever since I left Phoenix 17 years ago. I've been eying Florida real estate for years and I'm thinking this is the time to buy, might have even missed the perfect window by 6 months. I'm looking at the Clearwater area. Not too much new other than change of location, looking to keep the same job and transfer to this office, of course so much of my life revolves around you folks, I suppose I'll be looking at a new life for the most part. Thankfully they do autocross year round in Florida. :) I'm betting there is no club there as good as this one though. :(

Worst news I've heard in awhile.

I'll be sorry to see you go Les. As much as my dad enjoys autocrossing with me, I am hoping to get him and his Vette to an event down there at some point since my folks spend most of their time in Fla now. Keep in touch, it would be great to catch up at an event down there.

As for the belt, I would think tensioner first. Other thoughts include bearings, pieces of previous belt ribs jammed into pulley vallies. Seems like you mentioned a close tolerance with the belt somewhere. Could the belt move enough under high rpm to rub something?
