I was at Leith one day looking at a 996 TT. They only wanted $29K for it. Reason being , the car was tangerine orange with leopard skin trim. The salesman said " South Florida car, totally different world down there". I wish I had pulled the trigger when I had the chance.

Go for it Mike, when was the last time you didn't make a profit on something you bought?

So you guys are mostly hung up on the steering wheel, huh? Interesting. I would prefer a different wheel but it's not a deal breaker for me.

911's are not exactly bought for their wonderful interiors anyways. But you guys have me second guessing my future ability to sell the car. I just don't want another "mee too!" silver on black which is 90% of the cars out there. Unique counts for extra points in my book, even if it's to the distaste (as is the case here) of others...
Most of the current lemmings do want the silver on black, but my 2 cents is that within the Porsche world, that unless the combo is horrendous, that unique = more interest. I can easily see a future buyer wanting to have something different than all of his silver on black buddies. I used to be a fan of silver on black Porsches (and even considered doing a color change on the 914), but now they are so bland and unattractive to me. It is all you see these days. I was at the Porscheplatz at the ALMS race at VIR and that red 911 would have been the one that stood out in a good way.

I also think that the photo of the dash may not do the complete interior justice. It would be good to see a photo of the entire interior (shot from outside looking into open door). However I have to say I am not a fan of the wood on that particular wheel. I suspect that the wood trim was an option and I wonder if there is a way to de-option the interior wood.

Tangerine orange exterior? Absolutely! I would love it. Leopard skin trim... not so much. :) I also agree with Steve (gasp! ;) ) in that I can't imagine that you would not be able to sell this in the future and make it work. You seem to do a great job on maintenance as well as the proper tricks on detailing to get a car sold quickly.

In short, don't let them talk you out of it! ;)

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I grew up with this

So Silver and black is about like mashed potatoes with no butter or gravey.

I actually like the color scheme, with the exception of the wheel.

Agree 100%. I've been sick of seeing silver cars since the 1980s. It was unique and "new" in the early 1970s perhaps, but that was actually 40 years ago...

I would MUCH rather have a "real" color 911 (like this one), and I don't really mind the interior excepting a wood grain steering wheel.

Besides not liking brown as an interior color, the problem that I have is that the materials do not age consistently. I spot at least three shades of brown in that interior, and as it ages, that is going to get worse.

I know black/grey probably does the same thing, but it isn't as noticeable (to me anyway).

I think the interior pictures doesn't show the color accurately (flash). Looking at the exterior pictures where you can see the dash it look more Tan in color.
I think in person it will look Ok. I'm not a fan of that steering wheel, the shifter I kind of like it. When I bough my 911 it had a nice wooded Nardi steering wheel, I even made a nice wooded shift knob to go with it. When I started tracking the car someone suggested that I should change the steering wheel for safety reason.
My Nardi wheel is now hang on the garage wall. If I would have the money to buy a new Porsche it will be a Carrera cabriolet Red with a tan interior

Its a high performance Porsche that Mike will only buy if he gets a really good deal. Who cares about the color of the interior? :!:

I only buy cars for the quality of the interior...............

The red is cool. The wood wheel belongs in the Cayenne, or Panamera, or other fake pseudo-Porch..
