So you guys are mostly hung up on the steering wheel, huh? Interesting. I would prefer a different wheel but it's not a deal breaker for me.
911's are not exactly bought for their wonderful interiors anyways. But you guys have me second guessing my future ability to sell the car. I just don't want another "mee too!" silver on black which is 90% of the cars out there. Unique counts for extra points in my book, even if it's to the distaste (as is the case here) of others...
Most of the current lemmings do want the silver on black, but my 2 cents is that within the Porsche world, that unless the combo is horrendous, that unique = more interest. I can easily see a future buyer wanting to have something different than all of his silver on black buddies. I used to be a fan of silver on black Porsches (and even considered doing a color change on the 914), but now they are so bland and unattractive to me. It is all you see these days. I was at the Porscheplatz at the ALMS race at VIR and that red 911 would have been the one that stood out in a good way.
I also think that the photo of the dash may not do the complete interior justice. It would be good to see a photo of the entire interior (shot from outside looking into open door). However I have to say I am not a fan of the wood on that particular wheel. I suspect that the wood trim was an option and I wonder if there is a way to de-option the interior wood.

I was at Leith one day looking at a 996 TT. They only wanted $29K for it. Reason being , the car was tangerine orange with leopard skin trim. The salesman said " South Florida car, totally different world down there". I wish I had pulled the trigger when I had the chance.
Go for it Mike, when was the last time you didn't make a profit on something you bought?
Tangerine orange exterior? Absolutely! I would love it. Leopard skin trim... not so much.

I also agree with Steve (gasp!

) in that I can't imagine that you would not be able to sell this in the future and make it work. You seem to do a great job on maintenance as well as the proper tricks on detailing to get a car sold quickly.
In short, don't let them talk you out of it!
