Lately it isn't updating what I've "seen" in a forum unless I specifically "mark this forum as read." I tried logging out and back in to no avail. It also does it on another different computer. Anyone else seeing this? Been doing it to me several days...

I get that from time to time too-- probably once every couple of months. It usually goes away in a couple of days and I'm not sure why. I don't clear my cookies or do anything different so it is rather strange.

Donnie, if you were on a good reliable operating system like Microsoft Windows, you wouldn't be having this problem  - AB

Bite me!

I cleared my cookies for this site and it seems to have fixed it. *sigh*

I know you're kidding but I've seen the problem on Windows XP, OS X and Linux FWIW.

I does seem to pop up more often when I've been bouncing around between different computers so perhaps the cookie is getting out of sync with what the server expects to see or something. I've also seen it when using the same computer for a period of time so who knows?

Not sure what is up. I haven't had it happen to me yet. We have been on the same version of phpBB for a number of months now, so I don't believe there has been any software or configuration changes recently.

When we went through the domain name change issue a few months back it seems that clearing cookies solved most (all?) problems. Let me know (PM me) if this is a reoccuring problem (especially if you have to resort to clearing your cookies frequently) for anyone.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that this happens to. (Firefox on XP).

Just as an FYI we are on phpBB v2.x and are one patch behind the newest patch. I have looked at the change log for that patch and it doesn't mention any fixes for these types of issues. V2.x is pretty much dead as far as I can tell (short of security related patches) as V3.x is now out for public use. So keep letting me know if there are any issues, but most likely what I (we) need to think about is if/when we should move to V3.x

Hey Richard - if we're going to be upgrading the phpbb software, can we enable a mobile browsing mod too? I know relatively little about phpbb but it looks like there are several options for 2.0, didn't see much about 3.0.

I can help, let me know what I can do.

There needs to be an entire discussion (web/forum admins) about if/when to do this. Frankly this is the first time I have mentioned it to anyone. A few people have asked about mobile browsing. I see no reason to not put it on the 'to do' list. 3.0 has a slew of features, but I haven't specifically looked to see what the mobile browsing features are.
