Also, I believe that the email notification is sent right after you send the PM. We have had some on/off email issues that Jason and I talked about very briefly. Situation in which we get errors back from our hosting provider with messages like...

Now, nc.rr.com is not an unrouteable mail domain. For some reason sometimes our provider can't send out the email. There are other reasons that people may not get the email notification. Bad addresses, full mailboxes, etc. So sometimes people don't get the email notification.
But when they visit, they still should get the pop-up that lets them know they have a PM. But I guess if they have pop-ups blocked, then unless they happen to see the "You have X new messages" at the top, they may never figure out that they have a PM to read.
