For the last day or so, I have been experiencing some problems with the forums. The most obvious is that I am required to log in everytime I access www.thsccforums.com - though I have clicked the box that says to "remember my info". In the past, I have not needed to log in each time, unless I deleted all my cookies.

Now when I log in, it still does not reveal all of the forums to me until I go back and forth to the forum index a couple of times.

Anyone else having similar problems?

Bret.

I had a similar experience a few days ago, I think it the last time Jason updated the forum and the THSCC logo got replaced with the phpBB logo. When I found myself logged out I deleted my cookies and temp files then logged in again, but it still only showed me the public forums. I repeated the process and it worked the second time.

If the definition of insanity is to repeat an action but expect different results, then that is proof that computers are making us all insane... ;-)

The only thing I find is that sometimes the system flags all the new posts as read. This happens when I am in the middle of going through new posts. It also seems to happen more often when there are a large backlog of posts I have not read. I have noticed that for the posts I have not read the subject is still the darker blue. Even though the post flag has turned white. And I have tried logging out and back in when this happens. No change.

If you're having problems, the first thing is to to delete all of the cookies associated with this site. Use the following procedure:

- Log out of the forums
- Close the internet browser
- delete the forum cookies (be sure to get all of them)
- close the browser
- Open the browser and then log back in.

Like Carl said, sometimes it may take more than once for this to work, but this clears the majority of login issues.

If that doesn't work, then let me know, and we'll look elsewhere.

Yeah I've had the same problem with the log in cookie. I hit "save my login" or what-have-ha but I always have to put in my user name and password. I swear I'm a pro at it by now...
It's no big deal though.

Bret, it's the begining stages of Mad Cow disease. You should already know those signs by heart by now.
