Actually, in the very first rev of the site I thought we were using the wider, banner-style logo (http://thscc.com/graphics/logos/tarheel+logo-sm.gif) with it centered in the screen. I think the links (FAQ, Search, Memberlist, etc) were spread out below the logo, also centered.

We had some discussion about it in the very first, pre-launch days of the forum, IIRC. Are those posts still around somewhere?
