You pay about 1/3rd fees and get 1 student instead of 2 students. Some instructors like the idea of instructing and having more time for themselves to do stuff. They are the only group that I know of that does this though.

Alas they aren't even the only ones that charge instructor fees. Some are deposits, but usually only if you take two students. Some however charge no matter. Case in point, Carolinas PCA. They had been doing the refund for two students but getting chosen as one of these wasn't easy since they get good turnouts, and only let a certain number get this 'privilege'. I've had to decline 4-5 events with them over the past three years because they could only offer me a single student..

I know several other PCA chapters charge. There are other groups that I can't recall right off but know Ive had to pass on several because of fees.

Here's the first one....just the warm up. It was a bit cool and raining. After this session the weather was great. I was bummed that I left my gloves sitting on my tool box. It took a little while to get the cob webs shaken off and get up to speed, but it started to come together.

more to come today and tommorow.

Did you notice Bernie spitting in my face...

I was a little disapointed how much I was off line starting out. It has been a while since I was on VIR-S, but I shouldn't have been THAT bad.

Good video ... Its very "instructional" in that you can see where you're looking by the reflection in the center rear view mirror. Nice to see your head swivel before the car finishes slowing for turn in ...

Actually Marty the water didn't come from me. The miata got showered at the same time you did......I think the oak tree took a leak on both of us.

And as another thought the 10/10ths event is still very under attended its the 28th and 29th there are a total of 23 entrants in all run groups. So track time will be like you're alone on the course. I see Graham has signed up. If you can get away on a weekday this is the one to attend. Cline this means you!!!

yeah, right.....and does that explain the passing signal given with the middle finger?

wish I could make the 10/10ths event...but I have a motor mount issue to fix. You can really see it in my later videos when I can't get the car to shift from 2nd to 3rd.

I'll be there some time Sunday also, but I like to park close to the classroom and snack bar, less of a walk for these 68 year old legs. I ran Grand east this Monday and on the last session there was only three cars on track, it was almost eerie, just you and the flag stations. I've got a feeling thats going to be the case next week also. See you there GY

3rd Session at VIR South. Finally getting up to speed in the car. Unfortunately a slight technical issue meant there was no 2nd session for me.
