Got a few pics of the Spec E30 project on the net.

http://pages.suddenlink.net/rrroadster/

Let me know if the site's too slow and I'll try uploading.

The question is, are you ready to push it off a cliff and walk away? <lol>

The words of Carter Hunt spoke during my competition school still ring in my ear. First, be ready to push your car off a cliff and walk away. If you are not willing to do that, then don't race. Second, have your car loaded and ready to go at least one week before the race.

Every time I close the ramp on the trailer, I take one last look at the Camaro knowing it may not come back.

Wow! Will you be serving lunch in that engine bay????? Looks great, I am positive I personally have never seen a cleaner E30 engine compartment.

W 8) W! Great job!

Watch out though, as you're travelling a path I know well...when I restored my Z I was determined not to turn it into a garge queen, that it would be driven! Then, I got it painted...and got the engine bay all cleaned up...and reinstalled the spiffy new interior...and now it's fully restored! :D and sits in my garage, driven rarely but enjoyed nonetheless.

I think about what I could have done differently, but once you're in for some serious coin, you don't want to go half-way anymore, then when finished it becomes almost "too precious" to drive as intended..At least it was for me. YMMV and all that...

Hopefully you'll have no issues with driving that car at its limit on the track, but man! does it look nice...top-shelf work, indeed

Nice work Kevin. Even with my limited LeMons racing experience, I have learned 'pretty' and 'race car' don't go together...or at least for very long. I'm sure Jim P. will tell you that if you want to win (or even place) you'll need to be aggresive and not worry much about how the car will look afterwards.

You just have to change a few words Steve.

Have the MOTOR loaded onto the hoist a week ahead of time. Now that's Kevin's style

I haven't put a lot of effort into external appearance and really that's a least concern.

All the prep and $$ invested so far has been towards reliability and easy to work on. To me part of the easy to work on requirement involves cleanliness. It helps you spot problems easier/quicker and makes working on it less of a chore. Also, dirt is extra weight!

The goal is, after shake down, only nominal maintenance will be required. Other than that, just gas -n- go.

Jim - hell yeah, I'm ready to push it off a cliff... and set it on fire first! ;)

Sssshhhh....nobody tell Finker that is EVERYONE'S goal! The problem is YOU absolutely, no way in hell, can EVER do that. The funny thing is that all of us know it, but you don't.
