I wonder what Rick did to make Mark hate him. His students this weekend are: Randy Melton in his redneck Mustang and Walter Houston in his redneck Camaro.

This must be a very brave man!

Probably just the fact that Rick instructs with SCMC and knows the platforms..... I dunno.

I wanna see Randy run the skid pad in reverse again!!!!!!

FYI, Randy' 1999 Mustang GT has a 5.4L Quad Cam 32 Valve transplanted from a Lincoln Navigator. It produces lots of tire smoke...ask me how I know.

That must be a recent addition, last year it was the stock 2V. I look forward to seeing it.

Yeah he just got it in and running about 4 weeks ago. Rick is in for one helluva ride.

Did he do anything to the engine or was it a pick and replace swap?

You are kidding right? You must not know know Randy. The block and heads and stock, but pretty much everthing else is custom. Forged internals, custom intake manifold, custom tune...etc.

I think you guys are missing the point. The cars are only a small factor in this equation. Rick's real concern should be my inexperience and Randy's driving like his tail is on fire. The fact that my car has 400 HP and Randy's Mustang has over 500 HP only adds to the problem.

Perhaps Rick needs a relief instructor. I'm worried he won't be able to get into my car after riding with Randy. Or, he won't be willing to get into my car after riding with Randy!

Yes, I know of Randy and met him last year. However, I really know DOHC motors and their potential. If all he did was swap for a Navi setup, then he didn't do much that would be impressive.

If he did in fact do some work to it, then he definitely has a good setup and I look forward to seeing it on the track. More importantly, I look forward to seeing the details of swapping it into the car.

You'll have to see it to appreciate it. The 4-cam heads are HUGE as you know and a GT engine bay isn't as large as the one in a Navigator. Translation: To say he shoe-horned it in there is an understatement. He had to cut a hole in the hood just for the intake to clear. All the cooling lines and A/C lines has to be relocated as various brackets made for the pulleys.

I wouldn't say it's pretty, but it will GIT-R-DONE.

I saw it this last weekend. The engine would have to come out if you wanted to change the master cylinder.

I think Rick will be able to hold his own with Randy... one of the reasons I put them together.

You do in fact have to rotate the master cylinder to pull the driver side valve cover off while the engine is in the car. Just the world of DOHC cars....
