Do I need to do anything special besides get a transponder, to run in the time trial events. I am paid up, run in the time trial in February, but am now seeing the information about the TT License.

There is supposed to be a one-time $25 TT license fee.

Jake:

Please download the TT license form from www.thscc.com Track or
timetrials.net Fill out and mail the short form with a check for $25.00.
I would recommend getting the TT Annual Inspection done on the
vehicle first.

Jake also, go here: http://www.thscc.com/timetrial/nonhtml/Tech_Guide.pdf to see the additional safety requirements for TT cars. See pages 19 through 23 in the .pdf file.
Look forward to seeing you in the Time Trial!!

Jake came very close braking into the 2:30's at this first Time Trail.
Well done Jake!

What Mark meant to say was "2:30's" ... Jake's a good driver, but even God couldn't make a Mustang do that!

What is the record for VIR full? I've heard rumors about the ZR-1 Vette getting around in below 2 minutes

I'm told the Daytona Prototypes lap VIR in under 1:45

The overall record is still 1:36.310 i think. That was a F1 car.

Looking around it appears the ZR1's are doing about 2:10-2:12 on street tires and the Viper ACR's are at 2:07. Put the same Cup tires on the ZR1 and I would guess it would be a 2:07 to 2:05 at well. I think the quickest Nissan GT-R ran a 2:11 completely stock.

I saw that F1 car. It was one of the Schumacher Benneton Camel cars. Insanely quick compared to the other open wheelers that were on track at the time. Of course they were Indy and Indy lights cars so no real comparison.

I think he lapped the entire field during the 20 minute race.

Something to gauge your progress...the CMC track record set this past March is 2:14:9 and I ran a 2:16:1 during the same race. The general feeling is we can get down to the 2:13's with these cars and a little luck.

think about this. If our entire TT list started at the same time, he would have lapped everyone (even David S) before we reached turn 14 on the second lap.
