I've been trying to visualize using Peter's visual markers, but I admit my observational skills have not picked up everything that he mentions.

I'm curious to what he referring to here:
"...survey marker on driver’s left just before the Start/Finish line."

I think Peter is referring to a white marking on the pavement that extends a foot or two out from the left edge of the track. I can see it in an old on-track video, right about where you start to turn in for the bend.

I am proud of Peter. He didn't use the term "schmooze" once in his write-up. (I recall a lunchtime course walk at Roebling, where Peter used that term about 500 times to describe the entry to various turns :))

Here's another article from Chris Ingle. I used this one.

Video on youtube of him driving that line and setting the T1 record at the time.

yes, but then again Art, VIR isn't Roebling Road. whereas IMO one must be direct whilst addressing the turns at VIR, Roebling offers more varied interpretation of most if not all of its turns, the ability to schmooze the entry and become a farbrenter on exit is in fact the essence of Roebling.

That write up Peter did was for an instructor orientation day hosted
Nov/Oct 1999 before the track opened. Even somewhat "fixed" refrences
can change over time. Expect changes in the pavement this season
for sure. Some of the track as been re-paved and some corners ground. There will be no shortage of comments once we have the
oportunity to drive it.

Good to know Mark. Any idea when we might have Peter again. I'd like to ask him if we can record him.
