Looking at all these events, the One lap of America, AKA Rally, Targa Newfoundland, they all look fun to do, but
they are either far away or involved a lot of road driving in a car that might not be that fun after all to drive on the street for hundreds of miles.
But something like this below will be interesting and I'm sure a lot of people will be interested also.
The idea will be to drive a different track each day for a week.
You should be able to have enough, but not too many participant to do 2 run group. Each run group will do 3X 30 min session to
learn the track and setup the car. Then a 4th 30 min. session where your lap time will be recorded. The best lap time will be kept for the results.
That will be 2 hrs of track time, with 2 run group that should take a little over 4 hrs so everything should be finish early afternoon.
Then in the afternoon you travel to the next track the way you want. Towing your car, driving it, etc.
The next day you repeat the same thing again. With the number of tracks in the Southeast the travel should not be too bad.
A event schedule might be something like this:
Monday AM, Barber Motorsport Park Birmingham AL.
Monday PM, Travel to Road Atlanta.
Tuesday AM, Road Atlanta
Tuesday PM, Travel to Roebling Road
Wednesday AM, Roebling Road
Wednesday PM, Travel to CMP
Thursday AM, CMP
Thursday PM, Travel to VIR
Friday AM, VIR North
Friday PM, VIR Full
Friday evening party, trophy presentation. The best time of each track will be added for the results.
That will be 12hrs of track time in the week.
With the new track High Rock Raceway coming soon. A schedule might be.
Barber Motorsport Park , Road Atlanta, CMP, High Rock Raceway, VIR. or
CMP, Roebling Road, Road Atlanta, High Rock Raceway, VIR or any other possibility.
If you finish at an other track than VIR, than you do a full day with 2 time trial sessions.
Track organizer, can you do something like that?
