OK everyone... if you're on MotorsportReg.com you should have received an email yesterday announcing that registration is open for our final Driver's Ed and Time Trial event of 2008:

October 11th & 12th ... Carolina Motorsports Park

This is a change from our original plan of ending the season again at Rockingham. For reasons I won't go into here, we found ourselves lucky enough to both have an "out" of our contract with Rockingham (their doing), and an option of an alternate date in the same month (right place at the right time basically.) So we jumped on it.

This move will give us an option of keeping both CMP dates next year (if High Rock doesn't open) or move the CMP date to October, since I think we can all agree October will be much more pleasant than June.

So... at any rate... standard format: all experience levels welcome (newbies ENCOURAGED to come to this one!), instructor group, solo group, and of course, time trials.

To make the event slightly more attractive, we will be including lunch and skid pad in everyone's entry. There may even be an added time trial driver benefit which I'll be discussing with Brad and Mark shortly :)

Registration is now open, member discounts apply (just enter THSCC in the discount code box.)

DE - $325
Time Trial - $30
Skid Pad only - $40 (for anyone wanting to come hang out but not quite ready to make the jump to a full fledged track event, or for anyone needing some skid pad time for suspension testing/tweaking.)

As always, details and registration here: www.tzcthscc.motorsportreg.com

I am registered.

Can someone refresh my memory, are there any showers at the track just in case I consider camping?

Yes, boys & girls, this will be the last HPDE/TT of the season for us.

Comes at just the right time for those who have been considering a move into the world of on-track fun. CMP is THE track we consider to be a great first-time venue. It's technical enough for veterans, but easy to learn and offers all the right stuff for those just starting out in our program. Only one long straight, nice elevation changes and plenty of turns to keep things interesting.

Plus the amenities continue to add up, turning CMP from a stark desert into a lush, tropical... well, maybe not lush, but it's looking pretty nice now.

Hope to see some new-comers at this one. :)

Actually, the entry fee for this event INCLUDES LUNCH BOTH DAYS for everyone!

We REALLY need a good turn-out at this event to make our season a success. If you have not done an HPDE Event yet, this is the one to get in on. We have plenty of instructors available, and plenty of bandwidth in all run groups. We need more THSCC members at this event.

"C'mon down!" to CMP with us and have a large time! The event hotel is really nice and the cost is reasonable ($59.00).

All lanes open... No waiting!
