Hey ya’ll, classroom pays off!! In Saturday morning’s Red classroom, Capt Ron mentioned that going off at T10 (South Bend) was one of the best places you could go off. His point was that there was plenty of run off room available.

Glad to see someone finally got this rather obvious tidbit over to folks who've been fearing the 'ol nasty' T10... perhaps now those who've been averse to tracking out to the 'curb' as any advanced driver should be able to, will find it not quite so intimidating...

Been trying to point out all along that there's a forty acre field out there folks... use it... glad someone with credibility finally got through...

Thanks Ron...

PS: If you two wheel off (or four for that matter) and attempt to get back on track before T11 (which is not that hard if you caught your error soon enough) be AWARE of the really nasty 'chuck hole' at the end of the 'gators'... it's rattle yer teeth and jar yer kidneys right smart... you have been warned...

Uh, you should also notice the big ass drainage hole that's at the bottom of the hill to drivers right off in the grass. Go ahead and go off early if you're going off into the forty acre field. I've seen one car damaged by the big hole pretty badly, and I'm sure there have been more.

The hole is about 3'x3' square and about 2' deep. The car I saw hit it lost front bodywork and a complete suspension corner on the right front. It would take some pretty bad luck to hit that for if you're anywhere in the ballpark of making the corner and go off, you'll be way early for it. But it's worth mentioning.

Most of the time there is a cone down in that hole to make it stand out from the rest of the land a little better.

Me three. I don't do enough HPDEs to get the points needed for the championship. . . .

Ahhhh Ryna is so old now and the saddest thing about it is, I brought it upon myself by being in a hurry registering for a RallyX

By the time you see that, it's probably too late!

But seriously, folks should look for it when there in their first lap out just to know what I'm talking about.

I have seen it before and thought:

"Yup, don't wanna end up there"

Why do you guys keep bringing this up a week before a race  I actually got passed in T10 and did my first pass there last month. T10 does not worry me near as much as T14.

On the Sunday race went into T14 full bore side by side with another CMC driver three laps in a row. He could not complete the pass up the back stretch try as he might, even trying to draft and sling shot by me. All three times I held the inside line to 14. I knew if he did not have me clear, I had the line into and out of 14. My braking started at the 1 marker. One screw up and I was going for wild ride down the hill.

Most fun I have had in a car! Well, except that time with Cheryl :hyper2:
