Are occupants of all cars participating in HPDEs still allowed to use OEM belts so long as both driver and passenger use them per the 'equal protection' rule...

For our events, yes, providing the belts are in good to excellent shape (no frays, not brittle, retracting mechanisms work, etc, etc.)

Now... since convertibles require a roll bar, we prefer that people use harnesses in those cars, but I don't think we require it if the car is run with the top UP or a hard-top is in place.

BUT... as Mark Vitacco has said many many times, this forum is not the be-all of event policy. If you are asking about convertibles, please email him directly.
