Actually the rule is only for dual bars (with vertical ties) on the driver and passenger sides -- they do not have to be 'full nascar bars'. Although, having bars that protrude into the door allow for the removal of the door panels (replaced with aluminum). If they don't interfere with the door, then the full panels and windows must stay.
