Great Comments one and All.
I glad data accq. was brought up. Getting one for classroom use was an
agenda item for this season. We decided to hold off until the
VIR events had run just in case we got burned by weather again. Stacy
and I plan to get one and have it incorporated in the classroom. We woud
of couse have to plan this with Chuck and Ron, but it would be easy to do.
We can't hook up DA units to veryones vehicle, but we can take representative drivers and record variouis reprensentative lines
and show you the data. We have been expermenting with the TrackQuest
unit since South Couse last season. This is something that I hope to
implement soon (Roebling?) I just did not want to bite off another $1000 project until we got into the season.
we have followed up with the guy in the Lotus-he should have started
in Yellow Group now that we know what some of his previous experience
was. The root cause on Nate's incident has not been determined. He
either ran over something or the rear tires just never heated up-its
was a lap 2 incident in cold and overcast conditions.
One thing I learned with I started racing, is you can turn in earlier in
a lot of places than what we would typically instruct with a party line.
I started drivng the Corvette on the same line as the Scirocco and
with few exceptions it works fine and I think its faster. One thing I
learned if you do turn 1 and 2 right , even with the Scirocco, I have to
take the streight line into NASCAR and apex the no name turn otherwize
I get too much rotation but that depends on the car and the setup.
The Track Walk was en eye opener for me, and I though I knew VIR
pretty well, I had not waked it since it opened
Good stuff!
