Hey guys -- where is the cheapest place to pick up a transponder at? I need to get one for the Protege for next season.

Thanks

Mark didn't have any more for sale at the Rockingham event - or I would have participated in the time trial then.

Hmmm, I was under the impression he kept a few spares to sell.

Is that uncommon? I bought the car to convert it over to an ITA car since it ages out of SSC in one month. I hardly paid anything for the car, so I didn't expect it to come with the transponder. Although, I did buy the car sight unseen and I continue to find new things in the spares boxes that I didn't know I got with it. Maybe I should jack the car up and see if there is one under the arrow that says 'transponder'. :) It is like a treasure hunt every time I open the spares boxes. I have three sets of new Hawk Blues, a spare starter, alternator, wheel bearings, wheel hubs, gaskets, belts, fenders, everything. It is great.

Well, yeah, one of the requirements to actually race that car would have been to own a transponder. I think it would have been included unless it was put into another race car.

Check those boxes....

He was building a new race car. He actually raced the new car at the Runoffs this year. So, yes, I am sure he pulled it out for the new car.

Plus -- I paid next to NOTHING for the car.

Check out this forum topic for details on ordering your very own transponder.

Adam, try here: http://www.roadrace-autox.com/bbs/forum ... =3&start=1

Looks like he's been trying to sell a hardwire transponder for about a month now. Asking $250, offer him $200 and see if he bites....

You can also get them straight from AMB-IT.com too. That's where I got mine...

http://www.amb-it.com/modules/index2.ph ... systemID=3

Transponders

Personal TranX260 Direct Powered Transponder $325.00
Personal TranX260 Rechargeable Transponder $365.00

Corded one wired into something that goes on with the ignition is the way to go.
