As it stands Jim, any MR2 I can think of is impossibly misclassed in IT. The first gen cars are in ITA - potentially a good match, but they can't make weight legally. I think the 2nd gen cars are dogmeat in ITS. MR2 would make a fine track day car, but for wheel to wheel...look elsewhere.

hey Jim, rumor has it that BMWCCA is going to establish a E36 Spec Series. bulletproof, and reasonably inexpensive. maybe not to the extent of SM but affordable. and my car is already prepped. maybe overprepped actually. not that i am thinking of selling or anything.

It is not a rumor. The draft Rules For BMWCCA Racing in 2007 include the SpecE36 class. You are over prepped. Stock ECU and no cold air are part of the preposed rules. The suspension has not been decided. I think I may be going racing in 2007.

Toyos shaved within a 32nd of their lives last *longer* than most other R-comps, and longer than any R-comp as fast or faster.

We won the 13 hour on a grand total of 7 shaved Toyos. That's a whole lot of race miles per dollar, if you ask me.

If you want to complain about the Toyo, complain about how they *feel*. I'm not a fan, but back when we could choose between the Kumho and the Toyo, I liked the Kumho feel a *lot* better. But they were slower. Hoosiers feel better and are a smidge faster and supposedly some teams did the whole enduro on two sets of those, but I wonder if they Hoosier was faster for their entire run on them or not. Obviously they weren't faster than us for the race, but I wonder in an apples to apples way...
