Is there a list of "approved" shops that can tech a car for track events? (I searched the track site and these forums but did not see anything) If not, what are the criteria for a qualified shop? Anybody know if Premium Imports on Wake Forest Rd Raleigh would be OK?

I'm sure one of the track guys will advise you further, but I have taken my cars to Carolina Import Works (a club sponsor) for years. Craig Gelston runs the shop there and is also a racer. They do great work. They are on Capital Blvd near the 401 Split. Craig is used to seeing our TT inspection forms. Don't let the name "import" fool you in his business name. I've never owned an import and he's done all my work for the last five plus years or so. Call them at 872-0350.

Annual tech can be performed by any competent person you trust, just
not yourself, with access to a lift to check the various suspension components for wear etc. The intent is not just a visual inspection but
you actually check suspension components for wear, etc. one a year
and maintian the track worthyness of your car the rest of the year.

If you want recomendations check any of the shops on our Sponsor Page:
1) K&E
2) Dave Davis
3) Carolina Import Works
4) Imports Auto Werks
5) M&M AUtoWerks

To that list I would add:
- Sports & Compancts
- Steven or Ray Truett at Shade Tree Garage
- R&J
- Bill Hutchins (Eastern N.C.)

Should not be charged more than 1/2 hour.

I'm sure others can make other suggestions
