The electric car is alive and well and will race again, but probably not at the next CMP race. I had planned on running it there as a series hybrid with a big portable generator in the rear hatch area, a big custom-made charger programmed as a CA/CV power supply with a hard input limit, and a couple of banks of big super capacitors as a power sink, but the people who are building and testing the programmable charger are really taking their time, so it doesn't look like I'll have all of the pieces together by CMP. If they got me the charger today, then maybe I could get it operational by CMP with batteries for the power sink, but it would be close.
Instead we'll most likely be bringing the '81 Mercedes 240D that we ran at NCM, but with a significant power upgrade. It'll still be a big under-powered 80's diesel Mercedes boat, but less slow than it was before. I took it out on 440 today and ran it up to speed in the fast lane (probably 70-80, but the speedo is way off) and it cruised well, where it would only hit 60 MPH before.
