Sunday Red Group
- Session 1 : https://youtu.be/31b6ZeunYHs
- Session 2 : https://youtu.be/kir7ia_sErk
(camera wasn't working for the last session)

I can upload Charles in blue group if he wants people to see him driving slow :-) (in his defense, he's focused on listening to his instructor.)

From a company world renowned for GPS technology, the Garmin VIRB is horrible. (the car cannot go 110mph; that's beyond rev limit) And their software (written in C#) is even worse. (it's gluing red and blue together as the sessions were back-to-back.) I may redo those with dashware and the data from the AiM.

You guys suck. I had to leave early Saturday morning as I came down with the Flu. Spent the next 7 days in the house sick while my Mustang sat in my shop all loaded and ready for the track. :(

That's ok. You would not have liked the weekend anyway. It was cold, and almost rained! :-)

If it's any consolation, Trackdaze is open track on full Monday and Tuesday. Just tell the boss it's doctor's orders.

VIRB X, as I recall. It appears to have two systems glued together... video is handled independent of telemetry -- one video "session" is not one GPS session, and the software will not split them.

You do recognize that only has a 1hz internal GPS, right? That isn't good for anything on track IMHO. I bought the Virb Ultra 30. 10hz built in GPS. I left the image stabilization on for this video set from this past weekend, so it comes off as a wobbly mount, but the speeds are dead accurate to the OBDII feed into the unit too. I've learned that the image stabilization off is the way to go.

Why does max throttle show as 92%? Competitor slip a small block under your pedal? :)

Indeed I do. And even on a sunny day at VIR, it was losing it's GPS lock.

I'll stick to my AiM Solo. The VIRB is a good camera, and easily handled in driving gloves, but it's telemetry (which is it's entire purpose for being) is poor.

(The Ultra 30 is their GoPro knock-off)

That's what is received from the ECU. I am betting that Garmin software has a way of recalibrating the feed after fact. I am going to call their customer support to see if it is feasible. - AB

I'd say it's a GoPro improvement. The form factor I think is a knock off, but they have so much more inside the box. High refresh GPS, accelerometer, altimeter, etc. already in the box, with Bluetooth connectivity to pull in OBDII feed into the video and overlay the data automatically. GoPro is probably working feverishly to reverse engineer from the Ultra-30 now. - AB

Tony, it was good seeing you briefly. Are you going to the NASA VIR event next week?
