FYI,

We here at Carolina Motorsports Park frequently get request from ChumpCar teams for test & tune and practice time at one of our 40 track days that we do every year. Sometimes it is difficult for us to determine the skill level of the various team members to determine what run group to place the car/driver in or whether an instructor will be required for one or all team members. This is necessary because you are running out there with our regular track day crowd. So.....we have come up with a plan.



Starting this month and next, we are inserting a Chump/junk-race-car only run group into a couple regularly scheduled track days, Aug 22nd & Sept 4th & Sept 19th. The cost is $230/car with all team members eligible to drive. The car must have participated in a prior Chump/Lemons event or be signed up for an upcoming event. This run group will contain ONLY Chump/LeMons cars. Lesser experienced drivers will not be required to have an instructor but we will provide one if requested (add'l $50 fee for instructor). Passengers in the cars will be restricted to CMP approved instructors or pre approved coaches only. All cars must pass the normal track day tech inspection at the track.



With the number of Chumps here in the southeast we thought it would be great to provide y'all with the opportunity to test and practice and get some valuable track time in the cars between races. Let's face it....currently you only get limited time to get the bugs out and that is usually the day before the race. If the interest is there and we can get enough participation we plan on doing this once a month or so year 'round. Building up a race car and only getting to have some fun with it 2 or 3 times a year pretty much sucks right?

we are an Autocross Club Dammit............

If we could get NCCAR to do this it would be better (it's only 45 mins from my house), but it's nice for CMP step up and provide this.
