Anyone else planning on going? Ricky and I are waiting until the venue is confirmed, probably today or tomorrow, but I'd rather do Patriot than NCCAR, so the switch is a plus for me.

Ditto for Team Magnum, PU.

We 'think' we have solved our overheating issue from CMP, but we need to actually test it on track as it doesn't overheat on idle or in street conditions.

NCCAR is much closer for us (45 mins from my house), but Patriot Course is waaaaaay more fun.

I'm signed up already. SK sent the email about the possible change shortly after I signed up. I really don't care which they run. VIR-P would be more valuable practice (for grand west @ chump.) NCCAR I could run in my Lexus HS.

NCCAR is farther for me, but looks like an easier drive, pretty much all Interstate. A 35-foot Winnebago with a car trailer hanging off of the back is great on a big highway, but a little cumbersome on small back roads. I should probably also offload the 5-6 extra loose engines and transmissions from the back of it. If I ever have to make a sudden stop; then it's going to get exciting in there. We have to re-wire our shorted-out cutoff switch on the Duff car, but are otherwise ready to go. Actually, I should just drive the Duff car to/from VIR, but I have grown accustomed to having a mobile condo at the track, so I'll probably trailer it.

We won't be near power, nor will we really need it. (it's cool enough to not need the AC's)

What turned out to be the overheating problem?

Like I said, we aren't sure just yet, but several Honda sources told us the lower radiator hose was collapsing under high RPM load. Our lower hose is exceptionally long IMO (36") which doesn't help matters. We have replaced the molded hose with a universal type-that is corrugated and has the internal reinforcement spring. If that was in fact the issue, this should solve it.

The sad part, we had this hose in our spares bin at the race and we could have swapped it out in just a few minutes. :stick:

I have seen them collapse internally before. I squeeze all of mine when cold and if there is any mushiness then I replace them with new OEM hoses. Normally I'd do a nice silicone hose set, but that would attract too much attention from Phil.

Ours are definitely soft. If this works, we may fabricate a hard line to replace the long straight section of the hose.

Wow, may have to come out of track hibernation for a Patriot course event. I've not run pure Patriot course since 2004 when THSCC last ran an event there. It's a heck of a lot more fun than NCCAR imo. I find NCCAR very boring and a tire killer with those constant radius turns, some of which approach infinity in length it seems. :)

You may want to e-mail Stacy and let him know that you want to go. As of right now, registration is still suspended on motorsportreg.com.

It's back open and on for Patriot course as of mid-day today.

And $50 off for the first 10 in each group.

I read that as the first 10 for ANY of the DE groups. In other words, only the next 10 entries will get the discount, not the next 10 in each group.

That could be how it works. I registered right after I got the e-mail and got the discount. It doesn't seem fair to all of the people who registered before the venue change, but I'll take the $50.
