I'm looking at doing the TT next year, and I know that transponders exist. That's about it, outside of the fact that there are wired and wireless ones.

Any good experience with particular models?

AMB somehow has a monopoly on transponders. You want the hard-wired version.

Indeed. You'll forget to charge the battery, forget to put it on the car, or forget to bring it to the track. When AMB "fixed" Roger's transponder, they sent a battery one.

(also, if you're doing races at CMP, don't put it in the left side of the car. you'll end up tripping the pit-in loop which confuses the timing system. it's not a problem for TT, as you shouldn't be over there -- in a race, 3 wide down the front is common.)
