Figured I'd add Book Smart's race weekend highlights here as well.
First off, congrats to Simon Say's for another podium finish! There were some fast cars there and they set the pace for the race!
Saturday was a light day for us. We opted out of the sprints as we were not sure what to expect in terms of car carnage but we were all very impressed with how well everyone raced during the series of events. It was very entertaining to watch and the small infield course looked like it would wear you out in a 40min session! Dustin's last to first run was epic!
Later in the afternoon we discovered Simon's note on the dash bar and started laughing. Well played! Something fun as begun and a response is in the works. Of course it will work, our technology is awesome! Who else has a DIY linux based gps telemetry and 8 channel data logger that sync's to the google cloud?

Well, until the vibrations around CMS rattled the SD card loose and it stops working on lap 18. Perhaps your right!

As always, a great time hanging out with you guys.
The schedule shift really messed with our driver lineup since we brought 5 to race the event. After some discussion and planning, we decided that it was my turn to draw the short straw and sit this one out. No biggie, Patrick and I usually get most of the extra stints at the other races so it was only fair.
Dwayne took the green flag for the first stint and pushed through the first stint traffic. I was relieved that the car was running well since it was the first time it has been raced since the last round of repairs and changes. Near the end of his stint, he spun in turn 5 and radioed in that he thought something was broke in the suspension. We were prepared as it was close to the end of his stint so we brought the car in. Once back in the pits, we didn't find anything wrong with the car and came to the conclusion that it was gas/water on the track from the cars that just completed their first pit stop. That 7:30 pit stop really hurt us as we dropped from 8th to 20th place.
Pete was in the car for the second stint. Everything went smooth with his stint until the very end when he was lightly bumped and pushed off track. Very minimal impact to our position but he did manage to climb us from 20th back up to 14th. Everything on the car was working great! At this point we realized how much our changes were simplifying life.
Jamie jumped in and started putting down some good laps and we climbed from 14th to 12th. He had some really good battles going on for position. Near the end of his stint there were 4 cars all on the same lap within 30sec of each other.
Patrick jumped in at the end and ended up racing with Team Infinity for position all the way to the end. Constant changes in position and hard racing until the last lap where Team Infinity ran out of gas on the middle of the infield and we went around.
Overall we were happy with the top 10 finish and had a BLAST at the track! Everyone is ready to come back in November for the race! The 24hour will be our next event and really looking forward to it!
