I noticed the edit excluded a certain mistake in T4. What's up with that? :P

That was not a mistake, that was a complete screw-up. Too embarassing.

Indeed a fabulous weekend. 'tho it wasn't such a great start for Team Duff Beer... the new engine exploded on the dyno Tuesday night during initial break-in. We assembled a backup Friday, and it didn't fly apart on the dyno. We ran it onto the trailer about 1am (after (half) fixing the trailer, again.) I headed off to CMP at 2am; got there about 5am.. 1.5hr power nap... register... empty bug... make sure CEL isn't something new :-) (it's a decade old VW, that light's on a lot.) Ran the first two sessions in the half power bug -- MAF is misreading so it's running *way* lean, good for MPGs bad for BHPs. Roger and the "good" car is rollin' in as I'm returning from the second session.

It's a very "interesting" engine... I'll post pictures of the blown engine and the backup when my phone starts working again. It wasn't until the last red session Sunday, after Roger was black flagged for copious smoke, that he figured out where all the oil was going :-) It was blowing the dipstick out! You can see the oil pressure-washed spot on the hood. (as opposed to the original problem of it blowing out of our patented GatorAid Catch Can.)

It would've been a better weekend if we hadn't had to build two engines in a week, but I won't count that against THSCC. (I'll blame Roger, who took the crappy it-just-won't-die backup engine apart too... leaving us with zero engines.)

Great weekend at CMP. Brad, way to go on the weather. Perfect.
Cash, When at an HPDE you have to have the memory of a corner back. Mistakes, or even screw ups just don't happen unless there is incontrovertible evidence, like a missing marker after the "kink". We won't mention which red TT car did that. :-)

He only had two wheels off. (at a time.) It wasn't like he was driving around with a cone under his car.

Let's see . . . Stabbed the gas; yanked the wheel; slammed the brake and dispite these best efforts, I had my instructor brushing sand and grass off himself. :(

It was great seeing everyone out this past weekend! Great Weather! Great Company! Great Track! Can't wait til the next event! By the way, those motion sickness patches work wonders! Thanks to James Milko for giving me the 411 on them. I was able to be the passenger with Stephen twice and Brad once and not get completely nauseated!
