Saw that the event is short on instructors, so I signed up. Unfortunately I don't have a way to get a car + the camper up to the track.

Anyone want to share their car in exchange for a place to stay (bunk in a 23' camper)?

How big is the camper (lbs)? I can put a class I hitch on the bug. If that won't work (and I quote VW, "towing is not recommended"), you're welcome to putter the bug around. (stock + upgraded brakes)

Here's another interesting situation that occured this week at VIR. Trackdaze supplied continental breakfast and subway sandwiches for lunch, to all instructors and flag station workers both days of the event......the net result was they paid less than buying $9.00 meal ticket from VIR and the overwhelming opinion was that the lunch was far better than at the concession stand. Perhaps we should look into doing the same thing to save some money for the track program.

Too bad the next version of the VIR contracts will forbid it.

What's next? I'll get kicked out for bringing a bag of Oreos past the gate.

Chin has been doing the catered thing for some time now but their fare is high dollar. Pretty sure Wendy at VIR said she is in charge of the catering up there. I'm sure VIR could whip up anything we asked for at a price.

So sandwiches to the corner workers and instructors is all nice and everything but how does this help attendance numbers?

Once again Steve, you've totally missed the point. Trackdaze saved money by catering the breakfast and the lunch themselves. Again for your beer sodden brain SAVED MONEY. And definately do not have VIR cater it or you'll pay twice as much.

I hate to agree with Steve, but how does catering lunch to the instructors and workers increase attendance numbers since this would be transparent to the paying students?

Saving money on lunches helps, but not nearly enough. We need more students, not cheaper lunches.

O.K. I get it you don't care about saving money. almost half of what Vir charges-----Cool, just forget I said anything and keep trying to figure out how to increase attendance. nothing else matters.

Did anyone else have some fraudulent credit card charges hit their account? The card I pretty much only use for Motorsport reg, the kennel and places that don't take AMEX just had some fraudulent charges pop up on it.

With the outside lunch option. I'd imagine we could add some extra questions to the registration page for Motorsport reg and largely automate the order collection process. With 55 instructors registered that's a lot of money in the pool at $9/meal.

Thanks for the idea Bernie. We'll discus it.

Miss you too Sweetie...........

There is no need for Instructors or Instructor meals without students Bernie. Granted your suggestion has merit from an operational standpoint but at the same time isn't helping with the attendance issue.

Forgive me, I failed to recognize the bottom line advantages to your suggestion. We all need to be more frugal these days.

We all agree with you Bernie. We could save $200 by catering the event ourselves. That's 1/2 of one student's entry fee. Plus or minus $200 is breaking even on a track event. What we really want are 10-20 more students per event. That's $4000-8000, not $200. How do we get 10-20 people to choose our event over the BMW event that was just run, or the Porsche event right after ours, or any in between.
