I had a blast at VIR this past weekend! I think all drivers should be required to do a HPDE before being given a license to drive. I-40 was far more scary Monday morning. Looking forward to September!!! 3 days!! Wooohooo!

For some odd reason, I find that driving in both Chump and at HPDE to be way more safer than I-40. I think it's the assumption that for the most part, everybody who's racing has a vested interest in paying attention and not crashing. This week I have an extended commute (US1 + I40), and this morning was all about dodging minivans.

Pretty much anyone who does track will agree. At least while on track you know:

1. We are all headed in the same direction (hopefully!)
2. Nobody is talking on the phone, eating, or texting.
3. We all focused on the task at hand....driving...GASP!

Just to be fair, VIR was very cooperative during our April event. New Op's guy Kerrigan Smith and Track Rental contact Kevin Massey-Shaw really had everything in order when we arrived, and treated us right on the facilities charges.
We turned a modest surplus and will have some interesting announcements concerning our 3-day event coming up in June as soon as details are ironed out.
