this is war peacock! casualties are inevitable. you can not make an omelette without breaking eggs, every cook will tell you that.

Well our egg is broken and we don't even have an omelette to show for it. :(

I am NOT a fan of racing in the rain...that was a LONG session. I think I spent more time in the grass than I did on track. Ugh. The afternoon session was excellent, and made the weekend worth the investment.

Did you have an off at T1? If so, I'll have the video up soon.

It is probably me. I went off with another car in T1. We both were stupid and waited too late to brake. We were lucky we didn't make contact. It would have been my fault.
Driving that light car with wide tires with Mustang GT brakes was tough when braking in the rain. It wasn't too bad cornering on a wet track. It was great when dry. I had the privilege of driving on the oil or gas. That was the only time I was nervous.

Yeah...it depends on what time it was. I went out first and Walter went out next.

I also discovered the grip fairy took the lap off when I locked'em up at marker 6 going into one. On and off the brakes (redneck ABS) 3 or 4 times before I left the track. The mud and grass actually had more grip than the wet, oily track in case you want to try it out sometime. You could also slow down more before the braking zone....

Our FWD car was like a Ferrari against the high HP RWD crowd which was actually quite fun. I guess FWD is the equalizer when the conditions are less than ideal. 8)

That is an interesting camera angle. Were you trying to analyze the dash bar or something? :P

Wanted to make sure we had ample proof in case tech gave us shit.

We had fun with the Supra, Enterprise/Milf Lite, and Sanford & Son truck.

Sorry to whomever the truck may have touched, I knew one guy tapped the Prelude but was not aware that the Mustang was hit. That truck is a handful in the dry, in the wet it was a royal PITA. Chump begs us to bring it and the Enterprise to each race, I beg the team to leave it at home.

I hope I gave some of you a laugh when I was pedaling the throttle all the way from Hogpen to the S/F line in the wet with the truck. I could spin it in 4th gear at will when the track was wet.

As for driving at night, LOL, it is fun if you have lights and know the track. If you have sucky lights (aka our cars) and know the track, it is an exercise in muscle memory and a massive amount of concentration. During the last hour of the race, Bryan Settle was in the Enterprise/Milf Lite car and I was in the Supra. We tagged up nose to tail and lapped a whole lot of the field three times. It was like a linebacker running through a flock of chickens, hahahaha!!! I drove the Supra from 21st place to a 17th place finish in that final hour and a half. All in the dark... without contact to anyone. A great ride. My muscles were still twitching the next day from the effort.

I was proud of our team this time. We have gotten rid of the idiot drivers we had with us (not talking about you Steve) and there is talk of building a non-penalty lap car and making an honest effort one of these days. The Escort was our legal car, but we sold it this race as part of an "arrive and drive and take it home" deal. So for anyone complaining about the USS POS Escort this race, it wasn't us.

Congrats to all of the great THSCC finishes and I hate to see some of the normal top teams fall out.

i got good video of the sentra taking out the truck in hogpen in the rain (or maybe the truck took itself out depending on interpretation). also got video of the (blue) enterprise turning into me in turn 5 and crushing our door, fortunately no real damage was done. i'm sure both of those beasts were thrilling to drive in the rain, someday i'll have to rent a seat and try it :)

Kevin, no worries on hitting the Mustang. It was wet when it happened. Sounded like the truck slid up going into the corner into the left rear. Just some duct tape to put the bumper cover back together and a new side mirror. Hoping Vincent will let us borrow some carnuba wax to get it all shined back up.
