The Army Corps of Engineers requires an environmental impact study from Romarco on how it will replace 160 acres of wetlands it plans to destroy.

Environmentalists also are concerned about an endangered freshwater mussel, the Carolina heelsplitter, found in creeks near the site.

My company deals with this crap somewhat and from what I've seen this can put the brakes on a project really quick. I hope the local mayor doesn't count on those new jobs anytime soon.

150,000 oz of gold a year, or 3.1 million ounces in the whole mine, at $1,600 per oz, that's $240,000,000 per year or $4,960,000,000 total

That's alot of slim jims and Bojangles biscuits.

Several times when I've stayed in Kershaw for CMP events there have been a LOT of miners staying there. They didn't say too much (couldn't ) but did say they were there mining gold.

If they do find gold there, you can bet CMP would be history
