Just a reminder that the THSCC/TZC John Mullis Memorial HPDE is coming up September 9-11 at VIR Full Course. The THSCC Track Staff is working on schedule adjustments to ensure that each student group will be getting 4 track sessions each day of at least 25 minutes each. That's 5 hours of track time in three days along with enlightening classroom sessions. The groups may be adjusted based on experience and vehicle to optimize run group size and track time. We hope everyone can join us for all three days, but Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday only options are available as well. Why waste a gorgeous mid September opportunity at VIR? All marquees and clubs are welcome, and remember that the discounted price of $495 for the entire weekend is in effect until August 1st. Credit cards will not be charged until August 21st. Click here to register.

Steve,

Will the run groups be such that a couple of novices could co-drive a car or is that impractical?

Thanks,

Unfortunately, it's really not feasible to have 2 drivers run in the same run group in the same car. You can share cars when you are running in 2 different run groups though.

Will definitely be registering for this after my August paycheck.

After getting a taste of VIR-F at the NASA event last weekend, I'm really stoked for this event! I was signed off for a solo run on my last session of the weekend and it was 25 minutes of pure zen driving! :D 110MPH at full throttle through the uphill S's is an amazing experience. :sing:

Guess it's time for me to run green group and let Noah run yellow this time around... :P

Remember, we won't be charging credit cards until August 21st. We really need folks to sign up sooner than later for this event. As Brad mentioned at the meeting, this is event is very expensive for us to put on, so we need commitment from folks as early as possible so we can make this one a go. If you are fairly sure you are going, please sign up now.

MotorsportReg says that cards will be charged August 1st, not 21st. Can you confirm?

I was hoping to bring the camper and stay the whole weekend - ya know, one person bring the car and one person bring the camper. We'll figure something out. :-)

Sorry about that, I forgot to change it. It's the 21st.

Just a few quick announcements

- The early bird discount pricing has been extended through September 1st. Don’t wait till the last minute to register though as we need to insure we have enough instructors on hand to accommodate everyone.

- Get $50 off! - We are now offering a referral discount for this event. You will receive $50 off the Sept event if you refer a new driver to the THSCC program. Have your referral register for the event and then e-mail trackadmin@thscc.com letting us know that you referred them and we’ll give them a $25 discount as well. Offer good for all run groups. Refer multiple friends, receive multiple discounts!

There will be open track Friday (more than most really want), great instruction available all days, HPDE Saturday and Sunday, and Time trials for those who want a little competition.

There may be a vintage group (Ferrari, Alfa, etc) and A Gran AM/Lemans/etc Pro group on Friday that will be a blast to watch

Slight clarification on that. Green and Yellow students will have a regular HPDE format on Friday with your own separate run sessions as usual. Advanced, Solo, and Instructor groups will have open lapping the rest of the day. If Blue (Advanced) students would like an instructor on Friday, that can be arranged. Watch for an e-mail blast on this in the next day or so.

Man, I am pumped about this event. I think the last time I made it to an HPDE was 2008! It's been too long.
