It was a fantastic weekend. The Mustang was a blast to drive thanks to my brand new Nitto NT-01's. I gave a few rides and some seemed quite surprised that a new generation Mustang doesn't suck.

Congrats to all my students who learned a lot and seemed to have a good time while doing so.

definately appreciate my ride, it was alot of fun. You are very smooth out there, I learned quite alot out there on track by watching your inputs and lines, thanks!

Thanks, and you are very welcome.

You were looking good yourself when Mo and I were behind you in her M3. She would have been a little faster, but she was blinded by her CEL!

It was an excellent event again thank to the event staff for it.
I had a lot of fun and when I put the new tire on the car Saturday it went better, my lap time improved a lot.
My new tire are the Hankook Ventus Z214 C71 the soft one. They stay consistent during the session and a few time my fastest lap of the session was the last one. I guess that since my car is relatively lightweight that's explain why they remain consistent, on a more heavy car they will probably overheat.

I really enjoyed the weekend also. The event ran smoothly, and four sessions per day ensured plenty of track time. Hope to see more events with that many sessions again!

Thanks to everyone who made the event happen, and to VIR for providing their great facility to us as always.

Here's one of my faster laps of the weekend. Still leaves a lot to be improved, but at least I can feel myself getting better every time I go out.

Thanks to all who worked so hard to bring the VIR track weekend together. Also thanks to my instructor Jason Franklin for the excellent education and the ride along. I had fun and my car’s in one piece minus its brakes, tires, and 39 gallons of gas. All in all a good weekend. Thanks to Jason Tower for riding with me on my last session on Sunday. BTW, what’s a good brake pad and brake fuid to buy for occasional HDPE’s?

Mike,

If you have a basically stock Miata on street tires (even sticky street tires) I think you'll find the Hawk HP Plus pads work well. They will make noise on the street but I never had a problem with fade. I've also used the Valvoline DOT 4 fluid. Dry boiling point of 480F although wet is considerably lower so keep it fresh. ATE Super is also a good choice and provides better "wet" performance but at more cost.

Is it just me or does that car in front of you need some stiffer dampers....it looked underdamped.

You guys hosted a great event! VIR was awesome, better than I expected really.

Blasphemy ....... why what have you heard?

myself, a little rusty in DE etiquette, sorry again Patrice. but i brought the car home in one piece. never could find 'the traitorous bastage" and his Smurf -mobile.

and i am fairly sure VK ducked me several times. must of been a BMW thing. :sing:

Hey now - the CEL was only on the 1st day, it self corrected by Saturday (either that or it finally burned out- which will save me money if that is the case!!) What a great two days!. Thanks to all for the event - and Vincent it was great to work with you - your instruction was awesome. And the ride in the Mustang was definitely a thrill - it's a great car and about the only one I would actually consider trading the M3 in for! :car:
