Had a great time running at Road Atlanta with NASA SE last weekend. I would have been at the Tarheel event if NASA wasn't so insistent on my having some NASA events before letting me into their comp school.
Here is my best TT session of the weekend. Any of you who know RA or can spot my shortcomings, please feel free to comment.

i'm certainly no expert on RA but overall you look pretty good, certainly for a first timer. it's a little hard to tell since your camera has some fisheye but i think you're turning in to 1 a bit early and not carrying enough speed. don't be afraid to use all of the curbing and then some exiting 5, just bring it back to the left before you run out of track so you don't hit the rut. you may be running the curb too much in 7 and getting excessive wheelspin, a strong exit there is obviously critical. i'm detecting a lift in 10a/b, you should probably be flat there as well as thru 12 (ideally). the main thing i noticed, and this might be due to the camera lens, it looks like you're a little tentative on the brakes throughout the track. the sound might also be slightly out of sync with the video which makes it difficult to tell. all in all very nice for your first time at what i consider to be a scary track.

any idea what your lap times were? were you on street tires or r-comps?

Jason thanks for the feedback.

Saturday:
1:50.026 1:48.626 1:52.443 1:49.040

Sunday:
1:47.661 1:48.638

The video was from the 1:47 session. I'm on RA-1's that had three weekends on them. My braking is a bit conservative because of my unintentional ABS delete. I need to fix that. I flat spotted a tire on Friday in turn three while learning the track.

those are plenty respectable times, especially given the conditions. abs isn't perfect but it sure is nice not having to worry about flat spotting a tire by accident.

I'm actually jealous, but you didn't pass anybody! You let those two guys by way too easy. I bet if you had blocked a little and traded paint, they would have not gotten by you.
