Mind as well get this started now.... Who all is in for the May Lemons race at CMP? Parade on Friday, oil smoke and busted parts the other two days.

The Grim Reaper Racing Mustang Team is there with the usual cast of characters.

The Dorifto Dogs are in, and I'm pretty certain Magnum PU is in as well.

Nope, we don't have one this time. I guess that means I'm the slacker team captain.

Duff Beer will be there, but with only one original driver. Our noob did well last time out, so we're bringing two more of them this time. It should be fun, the car is about twice as fast as it was last time thanks to a clean set of fuel injectors.

So if anyone wants to join the circus, we have a race-ready, reliable (finally), top-10 capable, legal lemons car for sale. Ping me if you're interested.

Mike,
Out of ignorance and curiosity how does one account for the LeMons purchase/build cost restrictions when purchasing a "prepared" car like yours? sell the car for $500 and then the rest as a separate transaction?

don't think of it as buying an already-completed car and entering it in lemons. instead think of it as buying driver slots for a pre-existing, already-legal, been-there-done-that lemons car. i'd love to keep the "integrenaders" team name intact and run this car in the may race.

The motor was a champ in February. Runs strong, no problems at all. It came out of a car I bought last year from Rex Deffenbaugh with a motor that was rebuilt by him 80k miles ago. Totally legit, I got the car for $400 (you should see the rest of the car, it's a wreck) and recycled the shell and old motor for $150, so we squeezed in under budget with a $150 residual after lunching the bearings last race.

It was random overheating that stole 4 hours of our race in Feb. After figuring out that our fricking RADIATOR CAP wasn't holding pressure on Sat, the car was fantastic for the last 9 hours of the race. But we had already lost 4 hours replacing everything EXCEPT the radiator cap.

So yeah, 9 hours of hard racing with zero issues to end the race ... I think I can say it's finally reliable :)

And now, of course, we're building a new car *slaps forehead*

It is amazing what Lemons does to the place where logic resides in our brains

Wow, it resides in there? I thought it was just flying around in the air and every now and then we breathed some in. I guess medical school was worth it Dr. Hall. And I thought you were just a Mustang Proctoligist.

We build durability in our car the old fashioned way. We broke about everything then had the High Priestess bless the car with lizard teeth and chicken blood. A shot of Crown in the tank before each race also helps.
