I may have to try this out, in either a Miata or 92 Sentra SE-R.

come on out, it's a lot of fun. Just make sure the car you bring has been to a tech day.

The Miata was tech'd already (Aaron Bass). I may be purchasing the Sentra soon.

I'd like to try and double duty the Miata. How does this work? Would we register under the same number (I've tried this a few times with the GT-R at a couple events, and I've run into various outcomes).

There is an option in registering to say you are sharing the car. The biggest thing is both drivers need to be in separate groups. There is no way to really handle it otherwise.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to fill out the registration with the option to share a vehicle... When I select - Intermediate, my vehicle already shows up.

Where is this option to share a vehicle (what screen)?

OK,
You are correct and the little selection button seems to be missing on the form. Sorry about that. Just go ahead an register as normal then shoot me or Stephen a PM or email on the sharing details and we will make sure everything is ready.

I'll be there in a $300 car. Hilarity shall ensue, and a lot of point-bys.

Sorry in advance for the n00b questions, I am new to this.

I know there's a check-in on Friday night, but is it also okay to just show up and check in on Saturday morning? Stephen told me what time registration and the drivers' meeting is on Saturday, but I have forgotten (stupid goldfish memory). I've never been up to VIR -- is there a certain gate / entrance to go in? How do folks feel about leaving personal effects out in the paddock? Are there any nearby food options? Is air available on site?

Thanks!

You CAN get there Sat morning - just be there early.

There is only one main entrance. Once you sign in at the gate, just follow the signs to the North Paddock.

They have a breakfast/lunch counter open on site underneath where the drivers meeting will be held, and there's a decent but pricey restaurant open for Dinner if you stay on site overnight.

Air is available outside the tech shed. Gas is also available on site.

I wouldn't recommend leaving a stack of $100 bills strewn about your paddock area, but otherwise I think it's a reasonably "safe" environment. I generally lock stuff up at night, but am less concerned during the day.

For Saturday morning, Driver's meeting is at 7:30 and registration should be open by 6:45AM.

a little sage advice Jennifer, if this is your first track event you might do better to show up Friday night so as to get settled in so to speak.

there is a ton of shite going on at a track event and it can be hectic if not overwhelming until you get a feel for the process. so Saturday morning once you go thru tech / sign-in and sit thru the driver's meeting it is time to go. Greenies go straight to class if i'm not mistaken.

so no time to clean out the car or set-up your pit space, check your tires, torque your lugs, check your oil, clean your windshield, take a squirt................ etc. etc. etc.

YMMV 8)
