Is there any way to test one of these? Ours has a green LED that is on, but it did not register towards the end of our last race.

Only way I know is to take it along with a known-good power source to a track with an AMB system and get them to help you test it by passing it over one of their antenna loops. I think even a kart track will work. I've never tried it on my kart track system, though. The karts definitely have different transponders than the car ones, but I really think they're just slightly lower power and smaller versions of the same thing (that are self powered, too).

If I knew it worked on my system, I'd give it a try for you. But I don't have a loose car transponder handy that's known good to make sure first, and I'd hate for you to drive out here to find that it DOESN'T work, which could just mean it doesn't work with my system. (Both my race cars are at other shops, so I can't even remove one easily.)

Thanks, if I can get my hands on a known good transponder, then I'll contact you.

I checked and it turns out we do have a spare transponder (rechargeable!) and we charged it up and lo-and-behold, it does read on the kart system. Email me at djb@donniebarnes.com if you want to setup sometime to come try yours. I live out on the Haw River between CH and Pittsboro. Basically 20 minutes past CH if you're coming in that direction, and 20 minutes north of Pittsboro if coming that way.

I think Rush Hour also has an AMB system. I bet you can get them to see if it reads.

Pretty sure they have the same system I do (just with a lot more software).
