Jimmy Johnson found the bump on the right hand apex of the kink. Bet he was sweating when he went past the tire wall spining. Ah hell he could have bought the factory GT2 car....I guess he wasn't really worried

I caught the very tail end of it with the football player...

I've got it DVR'd though, plan to check it out tonight, if nothing else just to see the ZR1 in action.

I think when it comes to driving at CMP there are simply those who have spun at the kink and those that will. I think the only time I've done it was in the RSX, and it seemed like I was spinning for like a year. Only thing I hit was one of those 2x4 turn markers they used to have. Those things will leave a dent!

I watched it last night. It was cool to see them driving on a track a lot of here have driven as well.

Right before he spun I was thinking "Damn he's headed to the kink mighty fast!" Jimmy was plain lucky he didn't hit anything.

BTW, did anyone see the show about the return of "The Boss" afterward? It's been on before, but it was interesting. If you saw it did you notice how they seemed to imply they would be testing it at Daytona, but 95% of the shots were taken at VIR. It like they went out of there way to not mention it was at VIR, but anyone who has ever been there can recognize that track in a split second when it's on TV.

J.J. and I have one thing in common. I spun right there as well. My instructor said don't lift..... he was wrong. Slid, caught it, snap back spin sent me off track left...Didn't hit anything, slightly debeaded right side tires. Washed them off, over-inflated them to get them to seat, reset pressure, went back out there. I don't think J.J. went back out....chicken.....

Depends on when he said "don't lift"

Also depends on your entry speed, and if you unsettled the car on the bump like JJ did. He slid all the way down to T11, I'd say he was a little fast.

Exactly. Once you committed (turn-in) if you lift you're going to loop it unless you going slow.

I like the fact that Tommy looped it in T11. Makes me feel better about spinning there with Mark Vitacco in the car with me back in October. Haha!

This was first session in the AM. I was lifting to slow entry to the kink, and easing back to throttle with car settled and weight transfered to rear. Lost traction, caught it, lost it with the snap spin. I was just posting to call J.J. a chicken, although I do like that he drives a DP with Gainsco.

HE wasn't chicken, he was haulin the mail going into the kink. Well over a buck an a quarter is my guess he spun all the way down to the flag station on T11.

I didn't see the show but my guess is they don't mention V IR because it isn't a track owned by the NASCAR boys and they didn't pay to have their name mentioned.

J.J. was chicken because he didn't go back out. I agree he spun farther than I did and probably was going faster. You Corvette boys really stick together.
