If you go with the race seat for driver/OEM seat for instructor just be aware that the instructor might tell you that he is not riding with you, seat height and Chuck's BMW quality arguement notwithstanding

Even with the seat height issue, you must remember that the instructor might have the same problem with the sunroof.

Well as an update I recently purchased a porsche euro gt3 seat, which is essentially a Recaro SPG. It has Porsche sliders and side mounts included and feels great in the 996.

If I get the VAC floor mounts and OEM seatbelt kit, I should be able to bolt my current side mounts right to them, correct?

Also I was reading about pyrotechnic seatbelts or some nonsense. Is this equipment in the seat-mounted side also or just in the pillar? Because it surely does not look included in the VAC kit.
