I knew I should stayed out of the conversation about hitting things on track. So as hell, during the second session in Friday's practice, I slapped the tire wall entering turn three at VIR.

We hammered out the front fender and pop the door out on the drivers side. Luckily, the only damage was to the sheet metal and pride. It was a driver's mistake.

The fender did damage the left front tire. So I had to switch to my full tread depth Toyos for the rest of the day (there is about 3-4 second a lap difference). A another stroke of good fortune, Phils Tire Service had two new shaved tires I had ordered. Early Saturday they had one of them mounted up.

The weekend did end up very well though. I qualified on the pole with a 2:14.1. We had two points races on Saturday at 2PM and then 4PM. I led both from start to finish, turning consistent 2:15's during the races.

I finally shed the VIR monkey off my back.

you know Jim maybe it was the tire wall that got the monkey off the car for the win!! glad it wasnt to bad and you were able to salvage the weekend.
